Shape GB - Measuring The Nation
PHASE 1 OF THE NATIONAL CHILDRENSWEAR SURVEY IS NOW COMPLETE, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS TAKEN PART.

Shape GB is a part public, part privately sponsored collaborative project between 4 major retailers, 5 Universities and a number of companies and organisations that specialise in retail sizing surveys. Shape GB will aim to measure at least 6,000 boys and girls aged 4-17 across the country during 2010 using 3D Body Imaging Scanners.
The National Childrenswear Survey launched in 2009 is the first in a major series of sizing surveys planned for the next few years as part of the Shape GB project. The project is being managed by leading specialists in the area of 3D scanning for sizing surveys, Select Research. Select recruited all 11,000 people for Size UK - the last adult National Sizing Survey in 2001 and also managed all major sizing work for M&S. Shape GB is based on the fact that body shape can be as important as a size chart when designing and making children's clothes.
The National Childrenswear Survey commenced in March 2009 and this website is designed to allow people to register an interest in participating or for a parent to register their child for a specific appointment at the initial four locations for Phase 1 of the project.
